Information We Collect

Personal Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, username, and password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile photo from your Google account.

Profile Information: Any profile information you provide, including profile pictures, bio, and your Top 10 favorites list. If you sign in with Google, your Google profile photo may be used as your default profile picture. All user profiles are public by default and visible to other users.

Usage Information: We collect information about how you interact with our app, including the content you view and features you use.

Device Information: We collect information about your device, including device model, operating system, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information.

Google Sign-In

You may choose to sign in using your Google account. When you do, we access the following information from your Google account:

• Your name (used to generate your username)
• Your email address (used as your account email)
• Your profile photo (used as your default avatar)

We only access basic profile information necessary to create and maintain your account. We do not access your contacts, calendar, Google Drive, or any other Google services. Your Google password is never shared with us. Authentication is handled securely by Google.

You can disconnect your Google account at any time by deleting your VibeWatch account from the Profile screen. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Advertising

Our app uses Google AdMob to serve advertisements. AdMob may collect and process information about you, including:

• Advertising ID or similar identifiers
• IP address
• Device information
• Geographic location

Google uses this information to provide personalized advertisements. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We may share your information with:

• Service providers who help us operate our app (including Supabase for authentication and database, Resend for transactional email, PostHog for product analytics, and Cloudflare for hosting)
• Google, for authentication when you use Google Sign-In
• Advertising partners, including Google AdMob
• Legal authorities when required by law

Analytics

We use PostHog to understand how people use VibeWatch so we can improve the product. PostHog data is hosted in the EU.

Anonymous visitors: PostHog stores a first-party analytics identifier in your browser's localStorage. This is used to group your page views and interactions in a single session so we can understand aggregate behavior. No Person profile is created for anonymous visitors, the identifier is not shared with third parties, and it is treated as a first-party analytics identifier (essential analytics) under most consent regimes.

Signed-in users: after you create an account or log in, product events (such as which pages you visit, which titles you play, when an import begins) are linked to your account so we can debug specific issues you might run into and measure feature usage. PostHog may also record session replays of your in-app activity, with form inputs masked, to help us diagnose UX problems.

We do not sell this data or share it with advertisers. You can request deletion of your analytics data by deleting your account, which removes the linked identifier.

Email Communications

When you create a VibeWatch account, you are automatically subscribed to our blog newsletter. These emails include weekly and monthly entertainment recommendations and updates. Each email contains a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also manage your email preferences from your profile page.

We use Resend to deliver emails from noreply@vibewatch.app. Resend processes your email address solely for delivery purposes.

Your Choices

You can:

• Update or delete your account information
• Delete your account entirely from the Profile screen
• Unsubscribe from blog emails via the link in any email or from your profile
• Adjust your device's privacy settings to limit ad tracking

Cookies

We use essential cookies to maintain your login session. These cookies are strictly necessary for authentication and are set when you sign in. They do not track you across other websites and cannot be used to identify you personally. No consent is required for these cookies under applicable privacy laws.

Data Security

We implement reasonable security measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.

Children's Privacy

Our app is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe we have collected information from your child, please contact us.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
